Applications

Chromium metal as supplied

Stainless and special steel

Above about 10.5% chromium, steel forms the film that makes it stainless.

Metallurgy and casting

A chromium unit for melts that cannot take the carbon ferrochrome brings.

Vacuum smelting

Low-gas grades for vacuum melting, where oxygen and nitrogen become defects.

Alloy addition

The chromium in nickel and cobalt alloys, and in hardfacing and welding metal.
