Stainless and special steel

The austenitic grades carry 8 to 12% nickel and take most of the world supply.

Alloys

Monel, Inconel, Invar and the resistance alloys all start from cathode nickel.

Plating

Electroplated and electroless nickel, laid on steel and brass for a hard, even face.

Superalloys

Cut cathode is a clean, sized charge for vacuum melting.
